In early Feb. 08, Neil Hamburger (America's Funnyman) held a joke writing contest. The winner was to receive boatloads of cold hard cash, and his new CD release 'Neil Hamburger Sings Country Winners'.
This prize was more than enough to spur me on to stay up 20 minutes after my bedtime and come up with a few jokes for the $1 Funnyman.
In no time I sent off 3 hilariously pathetic jokes over to Neil. These jokes were so bad, not even Dane Cook would dare steal them...
A few days went by without so much as a whiff of a fart in the wind.
Then...news broke that Neil enjoyed the third awful joke I wrote. Now he was all set to test it at LA's Spaceland nightclub. I was in. My months of tireless efforts at breaking into the biz had payed off. This was it.
